Earlier today, I spoke with Claire Potter, author of the Political Junkie Substack, about the U.S. operation to oust Venezuelan dictator Nicholas Maduro and what it might mean for President Donald Trump’s foreign policy in places like Cuba, Greenland, Colombia and Mexico, all places where he suggested further U.S. intervention. I also argued that despite Venezuela being an ally to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, the raid is an endorsement of Putin’s worldview that stronger powers can bully weaker nations in their own neighborhood.
