Reading more than you write is good advice for writers, or for anyone, really. I spend a good amount of time researching newsletters by scanning news stories in English, Russian, and German. However, books remain essential for me to understand the very dangerous moment we are in with American democracy and the Ukraine war — the two events which the future of world history turns on.
